Reela
We are preparing for our change from a temporary to permanent visa, has anyone got a recommendation for a good visa agent based in Perth?
Jack Bauer
Honestly, they are a rip off. Nothing you cant do yourself if you are prepared to put a few hours in. Lots of helpful info out there.
Scotty
If you have lots of money and are in a hurry then use them. Otherwise, do it yourself. Remember it is a lengthy process though.
Cliomarie
Veronika at Sortoutmyvisa.com is amazing. She is UK based but that doesn't matter as everything done by email anyway. Good luck!

verystormy
I will disagree with the posters who dont like them. After many years on here and PIO, if i had a dollar for every visa rejection i have seen because of a simple error, i would be a rich man. This is a huge step. Bigger than buying a house. Would you buy a house without a surveyors report? Probably one of the most regularly regarded is Go Matilda
ali
If an application is straight forward then no need for an agent, but they're worth their weight in gold when it's a little complicated.

Would you buy a house without a surveyors report? Probably one of the most regularly regarded is Go Matilda What do you define as rich? A cool million dollars wouldn't be rich in my book. And that means your overstating the value of agents, which is what the folk who've done the process without agents are saying. i am one of those people, I researched, I used this site and many others and saved a fortune. I also did it a hell of a lot quicker than agents were saying it would take. I wouldn't say agents don't have their uses but they are definitely over rated and very much overpriced! Druid
I have done the visa thing four times now, first one with an agent for a skilled independant, failed miserably after spending a couple of thousand pounds on the agent, sacked the agent, then the second visa was a sponsored regional, I found the sponsor and guided them through the process myself, third visa was a 457, same again, found the sponsor myself and took care of my end including paying all the fees, final time was another regional sponsored, I took care of everything including my employers side of things and paid all the fees again, took me 9 months to go from 457 to PR! Now im not leaving until I have an Aussie passport, only 6 months to go

Reela
Thank you all for your comments, as Pegg says food for thought. I would still be interested to hear of any recommendations for a Perth agent.
