Laz
Hi...did anyone change their UK plugs over to Australian ones themselves? Just wondering what the norm is.... Thanks
flatpack
If you can put a UK plug on you'll be able to swap them. If you're putting a new plug onto power tools that you intend to take onto a job site then you must use transparent plugs!
Druid
Yes we have all done it, spend a fortune at Bunnings on new plugs, I didnt do 100% change over, in areas where we had power boards I just changed the plug on the UK power board to Aussie, then plugged all the UK appliances into the power board, behind the TV looks like a rats nest of wires, the TV DVD blue ray player etc from the UK all plug into a UK power board with an aussie plug on the end, the foxtel and DVR box plug into an aussie power board as they were bought in Aus with an aus plug on them
flatpack
That's how we did it too!
Arwen
We changed them all when we came over. A friend of a friend had a fire from a UK power board and her insurance company wouldn't pay out so we didn't want to chance it.
Druid
I feel safer with UK plugs, the Aussie plugs are an absolute load of poo, putting it politely
