Scotty
Hi So it has been nearly a year now since we started investigating the visa process and now we are ready to submit our EOI. What a frustrating process, agreed? Since we are a defacto couple we had an Australian friend write us a supporting letter and they could not believe how difficult the application process was! Was nearly giving up for a while, especially when Engineers Australia told me I have to write a CDR since I did not have a masters degree ( I have a BEng). On the up side, we have everything in place now, loads of files prepared for upload and now it is just a waiting game. Our EOI will be submitted this week and w can see light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone on this forum has been great, some invaluable advice and hopefully be able to meet some of you guys when we arrive. One of the bad things for us at the moment is the price of oil since I work in the oil industry but still hoping to secure a job before we arrive. Anyway, I am just writing this to tell anyone who is starting the process that it will not happen over night but the challenge makes it all more worth. With the UK summer at the moment, how could you not give it a try! Thanks!
ali
It certainly is a bit of a roller coaster ride - good luck with the EOI and defacto application.

susanbro
We've just submitted for our 457 and I'm the defacto applicant. We didn't have to provide supporting letters but did have to provide loads of bills with same address, any joint bills, bank statements showing proof of support (I paid into my OH's account to save for Aus), we also had to provide pics of us together as well with other people. I screenshotted a lot of joint facebook pots, things like holidays and our engagement last year and sent them off. Also had to provide joint holiday travel doucments. Hope this helps xx
