Monkey2645
Hi all, will be arriving on my own with two small children just after midnight, in November. Was wondering if there were any hotels actually in the airport (like Radisson blu in Manchester airport, if anyone knows it) thank you
verystormy
Unfortunatly not. Though there are a number a short taxi ride away. Though most are not in very nice areas. Burswood is a big entertainment and casino complex nearby that has better quality ones. http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/HotelsNear-g255103-qPER-Perth_Greater_Perth_Western_Australia.html
Druid
There is the Best Western & Ibis 5 minute taxi ride away on the Great Eastern Highway, there is a nearer Motel, but believe me you do not want to go there, its a serious dump

Was wondering if there were any hotels actually in the airport (like Radisson blu in Manchester airport, if anyone knows it) thank you From memory I think you'd struggle to find a coffee let alone a hotel. It's a bit provincial. My plane comes in about two am. I'm staying with my parents, but they have said they don't expect to see me before six. I'll dawdle through baggage and bring a book. Don't know what it is about these unsociable arrivals.
Monkey2645
Thanks all. Looks like I'll be travelling straight to final location. That is if I can pick up my hire car at that time of night... these logistics are a nightmare ;-)
Rossmoyne
Monkey, check out Ascot Quays, a short distance from the airport and right on the river. http://www.assuredhotels.com.au/assured-ascot-quays-apartment-hotel/ I have stayed here a few times and found them excellent. They are a fully serviced apartment hotel and apparently have 24 hour reception.

benj1980
Hire car companies are prepared for various time flights. We went with Northwood rentals and the keys were in a number coded box. No problem at all.
Monkey2645
I've booked the car through hertz. Had good service from them in the uk so fx... theyre open till 230am so just really have to hope the flight isn't delayed as we're due to land at 1230, although I understand the branch is actually in terminal which should save time. Think im im just going to head straight to mandurah - those apartments look great but I want to be located in mandurah so figure one night close-ish to the airport may be more hassle than it's worth. Thanks for all the feedback

Thanks for all the feedback Totally understand your wish to go straight to Mandurah from the hotel, but please take into consideration that you will have been travelling for in excess of 24 hours, will be jetlagged, will be travelling at night in a strange car on roads you have not travelled on before. Sometimes after such a long journey, it is better to just crash somewhere close to the airport before undertaking the next part of your journey. This isn't a criticism.... just an observation from someone who has done it in the past and wished they hadn't!

Not sure how long it is since you flew into Perth Airport but it's a lot better than it was. Take into account they are doing lots of work there at the moment so it appears a little chaotic. Had also considered that driving in the middle of the night with few cars on the roads might be a bit easier than rush hour based on what I've heard of the driving, although I currently drive in the Middle East so suspect I'll be ready for anything as far as that goes ;-)
Give me a break!
It's not too bad on the Kwinana Freeway at that time of night, there's lots of roadworks at the moment but hopefully they should be finished by then. Whereabouts in Mandurah are you headed?
Monkey2645
Hoping to get a long term rental either Halls Head or Falcon - not too fussy at the moment just need to be in the catchment for South Halls Head. Staying in Comfort Inn for the first few weeks - not swanky but didn't want to waste all our funds on some of the lovely accommodation available for short term. Give me a break!
There are some lovely places down there. Nothing wrong with the Comfort Inn it's does what it says on the tin. Ate there and it was nice, overlooking the pool.
