MissNancy
Hello all, I'm really hoping someone can help put my mind at ease as I'm really starting to panic. I've gone through the entire process of the State Nominated Visa; - Vetassess Completed - EOI Submitted, invited to apply, applied and approved. I was sent a nomination agreement to sign and send back which stated that once returned, my EOI will be updated on SkillSelect and I would be able to apply for the visa. I sent the form back almost 3 weeks ago and I've not heard a peep from either SkillSelect or the DIAC. I've sent them a few emails but have had no response back. When I call, I stay on hold for so long that I end up putting the phone down. Is anyone else in the same boat? Has anyone else had their state sponsorship application approved but still waiting to be invited to apply for the 190 visa?? I'm so confused and pretty stressed out about it all :frown:
verystormy
Most 190 applications take at least two rounds to be invited - 2 months. If you have submitted the eoi with only 60 points it could take 3.
MissNancy
Most 190 applications take at least two rounds to be invited - 2 months. I've got 70 points so hopefully there wont be a long wait. It would have helped if they'd said on their website that it takes 2 months after getting state sponsorship approved to get an invite to apply for the visa. The wording on the site makes it seem like it happens immediately. Ah well, let the next phase of waiting commence. Lol.
MissNancy
Hi Verystormy, Just another quick question. When I received my state nomination, the letter stated; "Once SMWA receives your valid signed agreement, your Expression of Interest will be updated in SkillSelect to confirm your State nomination with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)." I've just logged into my SkillSelect account and my EOI still just says "SUBMITTED". Is that normal? Should it not indicate my approved sponsorship while I wait for the DIAC to send out an invite? I'm so confused...does that mean that they've not had the time to update my EOI? Or they've changed their mind...?

MissNancy
Not sure on that one I am afraid. It came through today!!!!:santadance: Both the confirmation email and invitation to apply for my visa!!! I sent them another message through the SkillSelect website yesterday - I was at my wits end! Nothing worse than having no information. Lol. SO RELIEVED!!! No explanation from them though but at this point I'm just happy I can finally apply I did my health assessment in advance and have my police clearance from both Aus and the UK already done earlier this year so fingers crossed it's smooth sailing from here. Phew! I can see why people pay agents to do this for them. This stuff is emotionally draining!! Thank you for listening and offering what little advice you could. It helped keep me sane Now for the final stretch of waiting...
