Hi having only ever spent 5 days in Perth, i know crossing the river can only be done in a few places, I was wondering if anyone could could tell me what the commute from Mandurah to the city is like as myself and my wife like this area, or can anyone recommend suburbs which have plenty to do for two young children.

thanks.

I am Mandurah based and have commuted it. It is a very popular thing to do.

I would not recommend driving as the freeway get snarled at peak times. The vast majority of people use the train. The train takes about 50 minutes and costs about $11 if you get a smart card. It is $2 a day to park. The trains run about every 10 minutes at peak periods.

There is also some new build housing going up very close to the station - walking distance.
