stephanie1982
Hi I have just got my Academic IELTS results and only got 7 on my writing...which is all I needed for my skill assessment but I'm wondering about when it comes to applying for my Visa. I currently will have 55 points with IELTS results plus state nomination extra 5 points. Total 60 points for a 190 visa. My dilemma is should I stick with applying for 190 visa or should I reattempt General IELTS to see if I can up my score to get extra visa points and be able to apply for 189? Am a little worried that less points may mean I have to wait longer to be invited. Has anyone got any advice...it will be much appreciated! verystormy
At worst, you are likely to only wait an extra month on 60 points with WA sponsorship.
New Life Down Under
if you are on state list schedule 1 the invitation could be fairly quick with 60 points subject to occupation. 60 points schedule 2 could be a long wait
Lou8670
You could always put in an EOI and have another go at the IELTS then amend your EOI if you haven't received an invite by then.

stephanie1982
Can I put an EOI in for a 190 visa and a 489 simultaneously? Or is this the wrong thing to do!

You can, but I don't see any point. Do you have reasons for the 489? Do you understand its limitations?

Alan Collett
Visa strategy can be hugely important to securing a timely visa outcome. Have you discussed your preferred visa pathway with a couple of registered migration agents? Might be worthwhile doing so, to get this clear in your mind. Best regards.
