Perth recession?? will I struggle as a cnc machinist?

I am moving to Perth in October and have sent my cv off to a few places and they have said it's pretty quiet at the moment because the mining industry is quiet and there has been a lot of redundancies. Is there still jobs out there or will I struggle to find a job. I have 8 years experience as a skilled cnc machinist.

cheers

Thanks for the information. Hopefully will find something but could always move to where work is.

It's only my 2nd working holiday visa but I am hoping to apply for the skilled visa once I'm there. Started to fill out the EOI but decided to opt for the 2nd WHV and try and do it from aus?

Thanks

There are still jobs out there, but it is very quiet / major slow down and yes, there have been a lot of redundancies and more happening.

What visa are you coming out on in October?

we have our permanent residency visas and my husband (carpenter) will be heading to Perth after Xmas. From your knowledge is the whole building trade slowing up? Would it be difficult for him to secure a job? Thanks
