However i suffer with endometriosis , so in time will need surgery - And just to add more stress i have just found out that i have a temporal arthritis - which will need 2 years of steriods treatment !!!! So, just wondering what do i expect ? obviously i will declare illness - but will heath care cover ? What costs could i expect to pay? verystormy 85 Report post Posted September 27, 2015 Medicare covers most things. So would not be too worried. Register wit a GP when you arrive and go through everything with them. Your drugs will be charged - as prescriptions here are not free and vary on the drug, though there is a maximum they can charge which I think is about $34 per drug per month Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Rossmoyne 98 Report post Posted September 30, 2015 Also be aware that if you take out private health insurance, some companies will not cover you for pre-existing conditions at all, or in some situations, not until you have held the policy for a certain amount of time.
