Scotty81
Hiya.....we emigrate on the 30th of April and a suburb we quite like the look of is an area called byford! Does anyone live here or know what the area is like? I know they are started to become an established suburb thanks
Chelsea2425
Hi Scotty81, with our experience I think you definitely need to have a look around when you get here. Everyone will say different areas are best but you will know best in terms of knowing whats right for you/family. I have lived SOR and NOR and I think I will always live NOR now, I use to live in Huntingdale/Gosnells. From what I know Byford is out of the way so you will need to think of your commute to work if you're working in the city etc. Like I said you will know once you get here and get a feel for the place. Again from our experience everything looks fab on photos and paper Good Luck with the move and all the best for your new life in Perth Chelsea
Bibbs
Byford is a fair way out the city, my grandfather used to have a big farm out there about 10 years ago. It's not near the beach, or near the river, so prices are cheap and houses are big. It's more a village community vibe than the city. It's over an hour by public transport (using Armadale train station) to the city, and a 45 min drive with no traffic.
Scotty81
Thanks for all the advise guys....maybe we will look around a bit before making a final decision, it was just we have seen loads of blocks of land available to build on at the size we are looking for....lets see what else comes up then
verystormy
There are loads of blocks of land available all across Perth. But, I would recommend you rent for a while and get a feel for different places before you think about building
Shaz
Yes it is a good idea to rent for few months and get to know the areas yourself. Currently, housing market is slow but when looking for land to build, prices are still not cheap. Byford seem to be one of the area still with big blocks. Other areas block sizes are getting smaller. Distance wise its pretty much the same as Currambine, Joondalup and Beldivis. The major difference is that the three mentioned suburbs are not far from the beach.
