asian here, friend anyone?

Hi guys! i'm from singapore moving to perth soon...seem like alot of people ( even from UK ) find it hard to find friend here, will it be harder for asian? will be moving with my wife and 2 kids but if socialize will be a issue then most likely i will be going there alone. any advice? cheer!

You'll find a lot of asians live south of the river. So in terms of Asian community you might find more there than NOR.

Hey mate,

 

It always requires an extra effort when you're expat to create social circles. You need to go out of your comfort zone and say yes to everything (to start with with anyway). If you have kids, a lot of people end up making friends through the kids circles (schools etc).

 

Meetup.com is a good resource. You can chose meetups in your area or aligned to your preferred activities/interests and meet people with common interests.
