Looking for information regarding the defence sector in Perth.

My husband is a project manager and already has UK security clearance but I've read to work in defence in Australia you need to be a citizen and have Australian security clearance.

Does anyone have any experience of getting a job in the defence sector in Perth?

As you have read, normally defence jobs and any jobs working for the federal government - inc,using civil service - require citizenship.

As a retired public servant in WA I can confirm that a permanent residency visa is the absolute minimum that will be considered, and that is for a short term contract position. For a permanent position you have to be a Citizen of Australia. I understand also that for Federal government positions (which a job within the Defence Force would be) you need to be an Australian Citizen.
