Guest woj
Well we had our leaving party on Saturday, really good ngiht except the amount of tears. The wife managed better than me! Still saying goodbye to people this week, awful! Fly out on Sunday, dreading gettin on the plane with parents seeing us off. On the plus side, I've got a job interview the day after we arrive! Once we're there we'll be fine just this week is gonna be the toughest ever!

Guest Anouska
Poor you I know how hard it is, this is our second time leaving so we have decided not to have a party, all the feelings of guilt that I have already I wouldn't be able to cope with a party . Good luck with the rest of your week and hope the interview goes in your favour. Regards Anouska
ali
Bittersweet time - I think I spent the whole of the last two weeks in tears with all the goodbyes. Have a safe journey and good luck with the job interview Ali
Guest bakercrew
Good luck with everything, we will be joining you very soon, I cant cope with the parents dropping us off so I have said taxi only to airport, I think I will be like you at our leaving party, makes me cry thinking about it but at least you are realising your dream instead of sitting on your arse thinking do i or dont i. Thats my thinking anyway, you only live once so go and follow your dreams. Keeping fingers cross for your interview lets hope thats the last piece of the puzzle solved. Guest scooby10
We didn't want one either, probably a bit scared of the emotion of it all. Instead some friends decided to come and visit and go out for tea. But others heard of this and it snowballed into a party at our house with about 30 of our nearest and dearest family and friends, 2 days before we left. It was perfect and we are now so glad it worked out that way. Actually everyone else was more upset than us and my MIL had a complete meltdown!! We also we out for tea with only parents/siblings the night before giving them a family photo of us all. We got a limo from our house to the airport and stayed there the night before flying. That worked best for us, all cried out by that time. We were then able to get up and start our adventure excited and no more tears. My advice would be to do something to say goodbye, however big or small. You might regret it if you don't.

Guest bakercrew
Hi Everyone and thanks for all your kind words. Yesterday the couple buying my house came around again and my cat went straight up to the lady and they both had lots of cuddles and she fell in love with him. She also had been thru the same trauma of leaving her cat behind in China and missed him dearly so she said she would like to keep him. So that solves a lot of problems and he does love his house and his neighbourhood which I know he is save in. So it was a perfect love match which I knew he would be happy and be the only animal. Just got to find home for my old girl who is 16 years old and has a terrible farting problem so may be difficult to find a home for her unless I find someone whose sense of smell is not very good. lol
