Guest beckyinwoodlands
We've been in Perth for nearly a month now and my little boy is starting to drive me (and his 1 year old sister) bonkers! I think he's very bored and needs some friends. Back in the UK he was going to nursery at our local school 3 days a week and had lots of friends but now we're in Perth I'm his best friend and he now has to wait until Feb before he can start at Kindy.... 5 months away! So if there are any mums (or dads) out there with a similarly aged child bouncing off the walls who may also need a new friend let me know.... the more the merrier! (We're NOR in Woodlands)
Guest stu&hez
Hi Becky, I have exactly the same problem with my 3 year old son Alex. We have been in Perth for 5 weeks and he needs some stimulation from other kids. The only problem is that we are living in Connolly and I don't drive!!!! Heather They have an excellent playgroup at Connolly Primary School on a Wednesday morning. You should walk down and meet the other Mums, they are all lovely and it is an excellent way of meeting other kids before starting Kindy next year. Hi Heather, I've also discovered http://www.buggybuddys.com.au... maybe there will be lots of mums in your area with 3 year olds bouncing off the wall. As for not driving that must be hard work as I seem to be driving so much more over here. Luckily I've found a playgroup within walking distance. Let me know how you get on locally and if you are getting to the point of tearing your hair out we'll have to work something out as even with the local playgroup and a couple of playdates my son is still bouncing of walls!! Bye for now Becky
Guest suks1
Hi Becky We've been here about 3 months now and are having the same situation with my 4 year old, she was born 2 weeks to late for kindy. Shes also a bit homesick and missing her friends. We've joined buggybuddies, its great but shes too shy to join in with the other kids her age (most seem to be a bit younger about 3) We are living in Mount Claremont and would be happy to meet up sometime if you think it would help the kids (and us and give the other kids a break, have an 18 month old daugther too) Also have found a preschool which she is going to go to on Wed. Went for a look this week and she seemed to really like it, like your little boy she's done nursery in the uk and would've been starting school this week so she needs a bit more than Mam and sister's and brothers company. Sorry if this is a bit all over the place, trying to cook tea at the same time!
