Any one tell me about the Lakelands area?

Hi all

 

Can anyone tell me about the Lakelands area?

 

Being a new community etc, are there many shops/leisure activities?

 

What are the high Schools within the catchment area like?

 

Houses prices are rising at a 23% growth over the past 5 years, this is very high compared to other areas. Is it the place to buy?

Lakelands is a lovely area, there is a lot of housing being built there at the moment. There is a private school there at the moment and i'm sure there are plans to build a primary. One of the ladies on here is building a house there at the moment, so i'm sure she'll be able to answer your questions in a lot more depth than I could.

The infrastructure is mainly just planned at the moment. As Welshie said there is a private school, Mandurah Baptist College but this has a waiting list and does not go on boundaries so there is no guarantee that you will get a place they are building however a state primary right opposite it and a secondary schools is planned for north of Lakelands. A shopping centre is planned for the new town square with a pub and various retail outlets. At the moment Meadow Springs provides all the shopping needs and thats just a 2 minute drive. The beach is a 4 minute drive. We are building in Lakelands but at the moment live in Secret Harbour so we dont have any experience of actually living there but hopefully in about 6 months we should
