Hi everybody, new on the forum here and looking for a bit of advise if possible.

I'll be moving to Perth med-November and have been looking for rental properties. I'll be bringing my 2dogs with me (both medium sized) and obviously need pet friendly accomodation.

Does anybody know if its easier to find shared pet friendly accomodation or would be just be easier to rent a house by myself?

My employers mentioned it might be easier to find shared accomodation that would accept pets, but most shared places seem to be apartments?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi and welcome to PP .. im not sure about the shared rental with pets i would have thought it would be easier to go it alone ( don't qoute me on that ) only that some people are not pet friendly are they ?

There are pet friendly rentals here though are harder than say if you don't have them, we have been in 3 and each was fine one we asked if we could as they said no Pets .. so we upped the rent and they were ok , the other two we just paid a dog bond of $100.00 at the time of signing the tenancy agreement .

have a look at www.reiwa.com.au and www.gumtree.com.au remember to always ask because some don't actually say NO Pets and if you ask they may be willing .

Thanks for advise, I would have thought it was easier to find a rental property myself over shared accomodation.

The shared accomodation is significantely cheaper and so an option I had to look at. There was one website "shared-accomodation.net" which seemed to offer pet friendly shared rentals but I'm not so sure of the responses I've received, does anybody have any experience with this site?

Thanks again

Cat all I can say is be careful about parting with your money before you arrive , there are some scams going on with these shared accommdoation.

You would be better off get a furnished rental to start off with for about 2 weeks whilst you check these shared accommdation ads and the poeple to make sure that they are your type . My nephew was also looking at something like this, and as it turns out the person running the add did not even live in the " apartment" . It was advertisied as a three bedroomed apartment and but in reality it was a one bedroomed. I am not sure which site he found this place on, but nearly lost some money on it.
