Guest Guest4575
Apologies for another car question! But doing some research, and it seems to me that the supply of good used European cars seems much better over in the eastern states, and the prices are better too? So much so, that it could actually be worthwhile buying a car over in Melbourne or Sydney (for example) and having it shipped back to Perth? Am I correct? Has anyone done this already? If so, are there any traps to watch out for? Thanks again! Ian
Guest sunnywa
Its not a problem to ship over to Perth. You have to then apply to the traffic authorities(Department of Transport) to get temporary plates to take the car over the pits again. You need to make an appointment to take your car over the pits and get road worthy again. You temporary plated are only valid for that day. My husband bought a motorbike in Victoria and had to go through this procedure. All the details are on their website: http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/20881.asp Good Luck
