Guest Joey0483
Hello!! We are moving to Perth next March/April time and I am unclear whether my children will be in full time education..... My little girl will be 5 years and 8 months and my son will be 4 years and 4 months! I am pretty sure my daughter will be, but unsure about my son....he turns 4 on December 31st and we will move the following March/April - will he be in full time school? Or how many hours will be at school for and how many days a week? Any help would be much appreciated, as it will be me working full time on the 457 visa and my husband who will work around me and the kids! many thanks for your help Jo xx
Guest mamaswary
Hi Jo If your little boy is 4 by 30th June then he will be in kindy which is 11 hours per week that can be made up of 2 full days, 4 half days or 1 full day and 2 half days, and your daughter will be in pre primary which is full time as long as she is 5 by 30th June. We are moving out in January 2012, I have got my 2 boys enroled in a school already, 1 in year 3 and the other in pre primary, they start on 1st Feb. Hope this helps, good luck with everything. jackboots
Depending on th area , some kindy's have different days as well ... my daughter goes two full days one week and 3 full days the next ( alternating weeks ) , next year in pre primary she will start full time as has been said above . Arwen
Also as Kindy and PP are pre-compulsory education catchment areas do not apply with regards to guarantee of place. Class planning for these 2 programmes are done in August/September for the following year and once the classes are full (ie teacher and aide time fixed) then you will not get a place. If you were to rock up at my school now we could not enrol you in Kindy or PP for this year and next year is looking dodgy for PP but you may still be OK for Kindy. Just something to consider when you are looking for schools.
