Visa Fees and migration agents

Hi All,

After doing a lot of research we've decided to go for it and apply for our visa - Regional Sponsored subclass 475 (wa).

We are not sure whether to appoint a migration agent and we are just trying to work out all the costs.

Here are a list of the costs I know so far:

AQF (Not sure if we are going for this yet though) $2995

Regional Sponsorship (can't get access to the website but think this is approx) $300

DIAC $7070

ILETS (Not sure if we need to do this either) £150

TRA Assessment - Anyone tell me how much???

Medicals/Police Checks - Any rough ideas on cost???

Is there anything i've missed?

Also, if we appointed an agent would all or some of these costs be included with the agent fees? Can anyone recommend an agent and give me a rough idea as to how much you paid and what was included in the price? I have seen some agents that state 'no visa no fee' - Is this true for most agents?

I've also heard people talk about paying fees in order to have documents certified - Do some agents include this in the price as well?

Thanks for all your help.

Sue

Registered migration agents are able to certify your documents - they are on the approved list xx Julie

On the agent front, we have decided to go it alone so I can't help you there I'm afraid - I hear the going rate is around $1500 but again it depends on your circumstances - the more complex your case the more they charge.

Hi Sue, we went with an agent which cost £1200, that was just for their service, nothing is included in it, you have to pay for everything else yourself. I had my medical in Cardiff and cost £290 and the police check as about £45, but that was only for 1, you will have to pay for everyone who is on the application, aslo I had to get a solicitor to certify all my documents. Can't help with what info you need as I have applied for a spouses visa, so all info will be different, my application is lodged and should be granted early Dec, ready for our move mid Jan.

Good luck Jackie. Ox
