Well it's been 3 weeks since we moved out of our house and we are now homeless and living out of suitcases at a friends house. I have just about settled in and to be honest only just realised how to post a new thread again :biglaugh:.

The flights are booked for 21st November from Manchester Airport, short term let booked, the furniture is set to sail on the 17th October and our two dogs to drop of at Heathrow on 2nd November, so its just a chase of sitting back and waiting now.

Hi Joe, we are renting a short term let in Clarkson until after Christmas then looking to rent long term around Scarborough (depending on rent) as we dont want to rush into buying.

Hi

We are using a company called Transfur.

We met the owner of the company at a migration convention and felt immediately at ease with the feeling our dogs would be well looked after. They fly the 2nd November, it was never an option not to take them regardless of cost.

Hi Lisa & Darrell

We have booked our rental for 6 weeks in clarkson landing 4th dec early hours!!! Gonna have a proper wander round before we decide where to live. We too are living out of a suitcase. We are using my parents house but they move back here in oct so we've got to get rid of all our stuff to make way for theirs....too much to do not enough time!!!! Must have more wine I think!

Hi I'm busy getting quotes from different haulage companies do you mind telling me who your furniture is going through we're due to hopefully go next easter we've had our visas since may but we haven't manage dto sell our house yet, I have a lot of lovely furniture that I just can't part with and we had one quote which I nearly fell off the seat with shock £6595.00 and that didn't include crates for my mirrors etc which were £60 each we were told that we were over the 20feet container and would have to have a 40ft but it wouldn't be filled and if we decided to take more and fill the container it would be extra even though we had to have that size regardless I have taken a lot of stuff off the list but just need some feed back from some other people in our position I wish you all the very best on your move

Kind Regards

Hi

We used a company called GB liners and we paid just shy of £4K for a 20ft container. We found them to be very helpfull and competitve on cost. We did have a couple of other quotes and they all came in within £200 to £300 of each other, i would give them a call as it does sound expensive.

Regards

Darrell.
