jackboots
Hi there , just depends on your taste as well .. they have quite a lot of ajistment ( lol took me a while to get used to calling it this not a livery yard ) yards down here at Baldivis , Oakford . forrestdale, mundijong , and Serpentine is a huge area for keeping horses .. Baldivis is ten mins if that from beaches and people ride on Kwinana beach .. Really apart from the central area's theres lots of areas its just your preference when you see what's where Personaly i prefer the swan valley area's but thats just me Brigadoon, Gidgegannup ( though a longer drive for the beaches ) etc i just like the scenery of the winerys' and the foothills, lots of yards up that way .. there are quite a lot around even in the hills its lovely bush riding , from what iv'e seen you don't go out riding on the rds much here like the uk its either box up and go... or use the menages or paddocks .or head of to events ... here's a few links for you to browse at http://www.horseyard.com.au/ and http://www.horseguide.com.au/Index.aspx
kasisalo
thanks for that, have family living in the freemantle area and was looking at the northern suburbs area at first cos was told be good for daughters 16, 18 and 21 yr olds but i know i will miss not being able to have a horse, im a bit spoilt at the moment as i live only a ten minute walk from my field and have the beach and hacking area on my doorstep. are those areas you mentioned also pretty good for the rest of the family to find things to do, for me the quieter the better but got to think of the girls, we have friends in margarate river i could live there no problem and hubby will be working offshore anyway but its too quiet for daughters. will check out the websites you sent thanks again ps what round about prices are the diy livery
jackboots
Im not sure i can ask for you .. ive stayed away from Horses since we arrived, ive always had my own and its really strange not being involved with them at the moment ( bit like an itch that needs a good scratch ) , where do you live now sounds idealic ! ? people also think nothing of driving here either so if you lived 20 mins away + its seen as the norm
kasisalo
hiya im still in england at the moment waiting for everything to go through i was told by someone on the pomz in oz site to try this site for answers on where is the best areas for keeping a horse. where i live now i can walk to the field and just 5 mins down a quiet lane is the beach with a ramp you ride down straight on to a long sandy beach and the whole of the journey from the stable to the beach there is no access for cars so you dont have any traffic to deal with, the last place i was at it took me nearly half an hour to get there and although it was in a lovely village the hacking out was a nightmare as the lanes were pretty winding and most people drove quite fast. I thought that moving to perth would mean giving up the idea of having a horse as we were thinking about moving to an area around currambine, connolly, ocean reef etc, but now the family are happy to move somewhere where it would be possible for me to have a horse again so long as it wasnt too out of the way ideally i would love something similar to what i have here but i dont think i will get that somehow ive even thought of mayby finding work as a stable hand or voluntary work in a sanctuary just to be around horses, i work in a nursing home and the hours are good
9 - 3 which gives me plenty of time before and after work to see to her, ive got a good little number, horse near and horse friendly work hours . this is why i want to find out as much as i can about having horses in perth, if it was just me i would move anywhere so long as i could have a horse again.

thanks again for your help
