Need someone to play sports with? Me too!

I'm new to the forum, new to Australia and after 3 weeks of getting my life here set up, I'm starting to get cabin fever. I'm game for going to one of those social meet-ups that people organise every now and then, but I also need some friends to play some sports with. I'm sure I'm not the only one, so if you want to get together for some friendly competition, this might be a good thread to advertise what sports/games you want to play and where you are based, then if we can pair people up to get them out of the house then that would be great! I'll start...

 

Games I want to play: 5-a-side Football, Pool, Snooker, Darts, 10-pin Bowling, Tennis, Badminton, Golf. (I'll play anything really!)

Where I am based: Northern suburbs (live in Clarkson, work in Joondalup)

Hi julian, I'm here 2 weeks and would like to get out and about too - though I'm interested in jogging - if anyone else would like to team up with a jogging group I'd be interested. Not into the team sports, but would be interested in the drinks afterwards!

Golf is my game (albiet not great) but enjoy it nonetheless. I will be arriving on the 22nd November and will be in Clarkson for about 7 weeks, before moving closer to the city. I am interested in most sports really, we can keep in touch on the forum in the meantime.

I play golf (unfortunately for the game of golf) and also like ten pin bowling etc. We are hoping to arrive 1st/2nd week November and will also be living North so would be good to meet up then.

Been here since July, and needing to get into some sports as sitting at work then sitting at home (with sitting on the train/bus in between) really isn't doing me any good.

Badminton or footy i'd be up for, (not that great at either, but not so terrible as to be embarrasing). I used to stay in clarkson, but am now living in joondalup...

Also pretty good at pool, but haven't seen any decent places to play yet....

Sunday 23rd, I'll be playing some pool in the Grand Boulevard Tavern before heading off to the Sovereign Arms to watch the rugby final. I'll be there from about 1:30pm, so if you fancy a game, fancy a chat or want to get on the beers early, come along and introduce yourself. I'll be the one potting all the balls :-P
