TheRocks
We just came over a few weeks ago from Dublin a few weeks ago with our 1 yr and 4yr. It wasn't too bad. We booked our flights with Singapore Airways and got the flight that leaves in the evening from London so that they slept most of the way off the longest leg. We prebooked the kids meals but watch what they have cause they are inclined to have a lot of sugar and if like my fella he hits the roof with to much. If you are flying alone request assistance especially if you have to big airport transfers you will be met and helped between the planes. There is heaps of stuff on the tvs on the planes to keep them entertained. I always book the shortest possible stop overs in all the airports so that most of the travel time is in the air. Some people perfer to book a stop over en route but I think it just prolongs the trip. Other then that a few toys, books and extra snacks. Don't over pack your hand lugage as you will have to carry it. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know.
shell03
My best advice is as little as possible in your hand luggage!!!!! I always packed loads for the kids ,books, pencils, Ds & games.....just in case they needed it and they never did. Guess who ended up carrying 3 kids backpacks plus my own hand luggage:arghh:

TheRocks
Loving in it. We have had a bit of rain so not to different to home. We lived in NZ for 4 years then a year back home and now here so not to much of a culture shock. You will be fine on the flights I used to just snooze when the boys did. I also gave the little one Phenagan which helped him sleep too. We resorted to it on the singapore perth flight with the older fella cause dh let him eat a chocolate cake that sent him to the moon and back. If you go with singapore you literaly get off the plane walk to the next gate go through security screening and get back on the plane. Where abouts are you heading too? We have just got a rental in Hillarys and got the 4 yr in to Kindy for term 4 and starting school in Feb. Now we just need some furniture etc!! Guest Legal Angel
Hi, here just 2 weeks ourselves from Clonmel, in Tipperary. Came over on Qantas via Singapore, was fairly straight forward though the plane was full and the girl in our row of seats took very sick, had to have oxygen and they had to split my daughter and me up for a few hours while they laid her out flat and treated her. Luckily my daughter is 9 so it wasn't so bad. We have had a world wind of a time - have rental property and I have job arranged but we also have had to furnish a house - and the flat pack is driving me bananas. As far as I can see, unless you can buy top notch, everything else comes as flat pack and its will destroy your soul to put it all together! Ha ha. Keep smiling, its worth it. Enjoy your trip, you'll be okay and theres plenty of help for you.
Guest keith73
We have just arrived and flew with Emirates, they were fantastic with our boys (5+7), loads for them to watch on the tv's and games aswell food for the kids was good aswell but the hand luggage is the big one try and take as little as possible cause you will have to carry it, ask for help before hand from the airline sure thay'll help as much as they can good luck. Guest tammychick
hi we flew over 2 weeks ago with emirates with 3 kids 1, 5 , 7 and i have to say it wasnt as bad as i thought they was fab with the kids we booked the front seats so there is extra leg room 1 ended up sleeping on the floor and the other across the seats i took loads for them to do but they only played with there ds and watched the films as there are hundreds of kids movies to choose from. we changed at dubai and its fantastic i would take pj's for them and when u change depending on what time u fly get them in there pj's and they are more settled and comfy to have a nap we left bham at 2pm got to dubai at 9ish then tried to keep them awake and changed them at dubai for the night flight. also with ur stuff if ur paying for a contianer then fill it with whatever u can bring things are more expensive and if u decide to buy new when ur settled then at least u can sell it hope this helps any more info let me know
Guest jantplus3
we flew with emirates via dubai last week, on the plane was fine, but inbetween the planes was horrendous. We had far too much hand luggage, there were no trollies, prams were after security so babies needed to be carried through. We had 11m twins and a 4 year old between us so it was awful. Also plane to dubai was late in, had a bus transfer to the terminal, and plane out spent 40 mins on the tarmac once on. absolutely awful
