Checked immigration website when I got up this morning like I do each morning and our 457 visa has been granted get in there

 

Ben 4 weeks since submission so it is a quick turn around

 

Looking to be in Perth by the end of oct

I am so happy this morning

 

My two kids and wife are over the moon

 

Josie 6 and Harry 1

Congratulations.

That is a quick turnaround. We lodged our 457 just over 2 weeks ago and our status hasnt changed from processing commenced. Our agent said the Perth office are really slow at the moment and it would be a minimum of 8 weeks. Whats your occupation?

I have a job working for Leightons. We are planning on moving over on 7th November, flying with Emirates from Glasgow.

 

What about you? Who are you working for? and are you still sticking to your end Oct move date?

At the moment we are sticking to end oct move

I am going to be working for ocean to outback contrstructon (awaiting dates when company want me there)

 

Have you got your flights booked

Singapore airlines and ba are very cheapmand also good airlines

where shouts you going to be living

Emirates are quite cheap too, thought they would be super expensive but for 2 adults 1 child and an infant its only £2200 which i thought was alright. Not too sure on long term accommodation, wife quite likes north side but as for temporary accommodation we are still working on it.

 

Yeah my company has not been in touch either but think I want some time off when i get there to get settled in and set up so the sooner i get out there the better. Have to do 4 weeks notice to my current company.

 

Where you thinking about living? Got short term rental sorted?

The company has sort us a place on the swan river for the first month we need to have a look around to see where we want to be we have looked at canning vale success and applecross

It is coming in about 2600 for two,adults and two kids (although one is 1 year old we are getting him his own seat) with Singapore airlines

Also the same with quantas

Hi there folks - just finally submitted my 457 application - was I completely mad to do it all myself?

 

I work in IT, and have a job offer from Murdoch University - starting 17th Oct. I already had my flights booked with BA/Qantas - this was meant to be my trip out to FIND a job, now it's all a huge rush!!! So I'll move now, and let the OH stay behind and sort out the house etc! (Its OK, she's done it before!!!)

 

Looking forwards to being there, and to making loads of new friends

Ours has just been granted! I'm so exciting, I'll be on the next plane out!!

My husband is already in Perth, he's been there 6 weeks without me and our son. His 457 visa was only submitted last week so I was getting a little upset that it would be another 6 weeks or so before we could go but now I'm buzzing - flights will be booked tomorrow, can't wait!

Tempted... but its just good to know it went through so quickly. I'll finish up work and take my time to say bye to all our family and friends then leave at the end of the month or so. Still buzzing
