Guest Tigger69
Okay! The flights are booked, fly out 22 April 2012 with Singapore Airlines:smile:. Been checking out holiday rentals, found some nice ones. Been looking around the house deciding what not to take, not very much by the looks of things. Written a BIG things to do list , its big. So can somebody tell me when to panic as I seem too relaxed and chilled about the whole thing. Hubby is in the Oh! Poo stage, youngest daughter doesn't seem bothered and my eldest is refusing to talk about it. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Guest carlieanne
Hi ya Dont have much advice but just wanted to say im feelin ya on the list situation, its all i do list on top of list but at some point we need to actually start doing the stuff of the list lol!!! Me and my hubby are heading out in feb and Im finding it hard enough to sort him out and the dog let alone having 2 daughters to sort out as well so I think its not nessceraliy a bad thing to be chilled out im sure we will all have plenty of fraught days to come so I say enjoy it while it last Carlie x
Guest Tigger69
Hi Carlie Where about are you heading to? How long have you been planning, every time I sit and look at my many lists I find something else that needs to be done. My eldest is slowly coming round, hubby is still at the same stage and the youngest still doesn't seem bothered. So much do and so little time, 6months sounds long, but I think it might take hubby that long to sort his workshop and tools out:err: Nicci xx

Guest Tigger69
That sounds like a mega ordeal you have been through Carlie, at least you have the visa. We are just flying there as we can't afford to have a holiday before hand. I have shipping company coming tomorrow to give another quote, that should be fun. Planning on heading down to Rockingham but not 100% on that, see how things go. Have buyers for the house, but they have to sell there property, fingers crossed on that. Found a holiday rental, that we are interested in, just got to confirm with the company. I am sure it will all hit me at some point. LOL Nicci
Guest Lucy G
I'm not that organised really Carlie just needed to keep doing things while waiting for Visa's (not very good at the patient game!) We are just going straight out too I don't think we'd be able to come home if we had a holiday we just wanna get there now!! 29 wks to go.... soon it'll be like xmas - we'll be counting the sleeps!! x
Guest mamaswary
Blimey you 3 seem so organised, we are moving out in January, haven't booked flights yet, haven't got quote from any shipping company, haven't started any lists yet, house just fallen through so back on market, the only thing I have done is cancel a few standing orders and closed a couple of bank accounts, and booked a going away party, but my 2 children are enrolled in school and start 1st Feb and we know where we will be living so thats a bonus. Better go now and start some lists now. Good luck everyone Jackie. xx
Guest Tigger69
Just had a shipping quote..................."HOW MUCH"! £4735 for a 20' container, that's without $440 quarantine and $400 for 2 motorbikes. I will be contacting a couple more to see if we can get that cheaper me thinks. On the plus side have already sold a couple of items to a friend:biggrin:. I see my weekends being spent advertising items for sale.......while I am at it, does any body want to buy camping gear, tents, barbeque and anything else that we aren't taking:biglaugh:. Guest Tigger69
10 tea chests.....you are having a laugh, if it wasn't for hubby's tools then that is the way I would rather go. First come first served with the idea of selling items on this site:tongue:, don't think there would be many takers though. My weekend goes as follows : ebay, ebay and you've guessed it ebay, might try a bit of gumtree just for a change. I am quite looking forward to emptying cupboards just to see what junk we have collected over the years.
Guest Lucy G
I know wot u mean... we decided to just ship personal effects & hubby's tools when we got our quotes. I don't think our stuff is even worth the price it'd cost to get it there! lol! We've done a carboot & family & friends have put their names down for items they want & we will start emptying the house after xmas. Nearly everything reserved so have to special care of it all now (trying telling 3young boys that!!!). If something breaks it's like "oh no that's another £20 off our budget!! Arrhh!" Whatever's left will go on ebay too. Whatever we make is going towards the cost of shipping the other stuff, that way we've one less thing to try & save for! There's plenty of others! We're gonna spend couple months here on airbeds but we might as well get used to it cos that's how it's going to be in Oz for a little while but wot a country to be camping in eh?!
