Guest hunkamunka
Hello I am 13 and moving to Perth this year, I love fashion, going shopping, cinema, horse riding and beach. My mum and I have been looking in to areas where I can still do all of my favourite hobbies, BUT.... Need to be in the catchment of a really good school. We have looked at both independent and state schools, is it only the independent schools that are good? I hope that there are some good state schools out there as it then will leave more money for my hobbies :) If anyone can help with my hobbies and schools I would be most grateful Thank you, Sydney x

Guest scottishkiwi
There are quite a lot of private schools near Secret Harbour although some of them are nearer Mandurah (which isn't too far away) Looking forward to meeting you all when you get here. PS give your mum a BIG hug from me

Guest sunnywa
Woodvale is a super suburb. Its has good schools and the closest decent shopping centers are Whitfords about 10 mins away or Joondalup which is 10-15 mins away. Lakeside is open on Sundays. The factory outlet shops are in the City. Woodvale is about 2- -25 min train trip away. On Sundays most of the stores in the city are open from 11 AM Hope that helps
Guest hunkamunka
Thank you Sunnywa, Ethel and jackboots We were heading to secret harbour/ baldivis but I have been looking at what there is to do for teenagers and it seems that there is more in the northern suburbs ? I could be so wrong as I dont know anyone in Perth my age. If you have children my age (13) that can give me some help or ideas that would be fab. I live in a city now and there are shops and cafes nearby I am not very out going and a little shy but I do enjoy walking with my friends to the shops. Thanks again Sydney x

ali
Leeming Senior HS has a good reputation, it has an Academic extension programme, music programme and science acadamy. My daughter is currently in year 11 there. Leeming and surrounding suburbs are all nice. You're very centrally located for cinema, shopping, cafe's beach etc., My daughter used to go horse riding in Southern River which was about 25 min drive away. I know someone who is moving to Byford (having a house built), but is keeping her daughter in Leeming SHS (so it can't be bad). Rossmoyne has a good academic standard as does Willeton who I think also have a basketball programme.
Guest MeganRose95
Hey, I'm 17 and live in Booragoon, go to Applecross High School which is the best school Ive been to over here expecially if you love art. I have a horse in Oakford about 25 mins drive south at a great livery (called agistment over here) with bridle trails arena and xcountry, the city is a 20 min train or drive away or theres garden city 10 mins walk which is a big shopping center, and the beach is about 20 mins drive too. Personally its the best location we've lived in since coming to Aus, we lived in Mandurah for 2 years but it was boring and quite rough, then we moved to Jandakot (near cockburn) and there was litterally not much to do at all. If anyone has any questions ask away, I also have fb x
