Hi Angie

I live in Duncraig with my husband Neil (45) and son Thomas (13), I am 45. We have been living in Duncraig since April after moving from Adelaide. We have been in Australia for 2 years.

I would love to meet up for coffee and good chat. I am free on Tuesdays and Fridays as I work on Hillarys boat Harbour on other days.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, we come out in January and are looking at Carine or Duncraig, we have friends who have been there for 5 years and love it. We are trying to ideally get in the catchment area for Poynter primary school for our youngest who has friends there. It would be good to meet up when we arrive and also introduce you to our friends who have a large network of friends and a good social life.

If you have just arrived are you in furnished short term accommodation? I am looking now and struggling to find such a family home short term in those areas until our furniture arrives, any advice would be welcome folks!

Good luck

Hi!

firstly, it would be good to meet up when u arrive :)

We had hoped for a short term rental when we arrived (3 months would have been ideal) - basically told we had no chance! The market is apparently saturated

with renters at the mo! Very different from what i had been reading on realestate etc before we came over - thought we'd get what we wanted no problem??

We got this house in Duncraig - its not everything we'd have wanted but does allow dogs and has a pool :) but we had to rent for 1 year! Spending a wee bit over

what we had budgeted as well. If you have friends already here you should maybe get them to view and try and secure somewhere for you on your behalf??

good luck

Hi! Duncraig is handy for shops, bus & train links, pub and park! Iv heard the schools are pretty good too, Downside is its not really walkable to the beach - its not really really far but dont fancy walking it in hot weather! The houses are a bit older as well I think, we have a rental here for a year, It wasnt as easy finding a place as I thought it would be - loads of people turned up to places we were viewing and I could feel the desperation!! Our house interior is circa 1970! but it has a pool and allows dogs - mine is coming out of quarantine on Hogmany YAY! If theres anything else I can help with (I have 3 months knowledge!) just ask. My friend has a house in Ocean reef - very modern - its gorgesous! but not so handy for things but very near the beach.

Hi Sandra i was getting worried i wouldn't find any one our age group on this site i was feeling very old at one point.

We arrived this time last year and got straight into work so we haven't done much meeting friends it would be so nice to have a chat about how other people are settling in Perth. Weekends are best for us to meet up just name a date.
