welshie
No we didnt! It does ask on the paperwork if there are any new items, but we bought them a few months before we shipped so i didnt feel too guilty ticking "no!" It was all still in the stores packaging but customs didnt bat an eyelid.
Guest SueRich
Hi there, I went to an expo the other week and a company there quoted £4000 for a full container (which he said would fit all the contents of a 3 bed house) or £2800 for a shared container. This includes storage and delivery and unpacking in your new home. I know people who have gone to Oz and only taken a few pallets costing a few hundred pounds. scoon101
Hi Guys, We used John Mason, It cost £2800 to move our gear. They made a case for my TV and came in and packed everything in 2 days. The large items were a Tool Box, king sized bed, bedroom furniture and sofa plus 20 odd boxes. They will unpack and rebuild the stuff when it arrives in Perth. So far our experience with the company has been top draw, If their sister company in Perth is as good then we will have no complaints and would recommend them to anyone. I will post the latter in 8 to 10 weeks Matt
Guest alanjuliecole
We just had a quotation from a company Anglo Pacific - however the shipping of our car was included!!! We are shipping 1 king size bed with mattress, 1 single bed with 2 mattresses (has pull out second bed from underneath), solid oak 2m long sideboard, 1 L shaped large sofa, 1 large sofa, 2 armchairs, 1 fridge freezer, 1 washing machine, solid oak bedroom furniture and a few boxes of clothing, xbox etc, golf clubs and a tool box. Our total quote is £4.5k (inc car) which is a door to door packing and unpacking service included. Very reasonable I think considering its includes the car . deanhewitt
we have a 20ft container booked for sole useage from Pickfords who are coming on the 18th and 19th October to pack and ship our belongings. It has cost us £4,100 including insurance to the value of £20,000. We had agreed with Anglo Pacific in Scotland at the beginning but had a nightmare with them with regards to communication, or lack of it so changed to Pickfords who were cheaper anyway. We have found Pickfords to be very good and are even willing to store our furniture for a couple of weeks with no extra charge. Plus they have been keeping in touch with us to see if wee need any help with anything.
