Hello, im not sure if this post is in right bit but here goes my girly dilemma!

What is the fashion like in Perth? Should I bring my 'going out clothes' such as tiny skirts & dress's that I wear when going out with my girlies round town?! Or is it a lot more relaxed?

Ive seen some gorgeous biker jeans in River Island but not sure if I would wear them in Perth? Oooh, I wonder if River Island post to Oz?!

Also, do you get dressed up to go to the races like over here? I have some lovely dress's & fascinators!

Good question!! I was wondering the same thing myself. Even simple things like casual wear for the weekends, are jeggings and riding boots suitable?

I started to pack a few weeks ago and when I had 1no. large suitcase filled with just winter pj's I knew it was time to cull the herd :(

Any advise or style tips for Perth would be most appreciated

Hmmmm ... its a tad hard to say ... its very casual here and a case of anything goes , mostly !! still liking their skinny jeans and boots or ballet flats or thongs :) Or maxi dress's .

On the odd ocasion when ive been let out its either full glamour and bling or smart casual ( me ) ... or i would say bring it all and adapt it .. for the most part a lot of its age related as well . if your a mommy and not out a lot or just doing the barbies in the gardens etc uber casual !! or living and playing out in the city ..probably more dressy ( i don't think it is like the UK ) . i personaly find the clothes a bit BLEEEARGHH here no offence to any who think not .. i just miss dotty p , next and george and H&M some of the other usual shops .. you all have a favourite place for shopping there and its the same here ... though i'm still looking ! :skeptical:

Thank you! I will bring a couple of my favourite going out dress's just in case & give the rest away. Skinny jeans & maxi dress's sound good to me!

If it makes you feel better, I just bought 2 tops from H&M & they have both shrunk, quality in there has gone right down! x

'Fashion' here seems to be a bit behind Uk, think last season - having said that you can get most places with shorts and thongs! Ok no thongs after 7pm in some pubs, but casual is the way to go. I have some fab dresses but don't get much chance to wear them. as for the races - oooh Melbourne cup (1st Tuesday in November) the whole country stops and fascinators are the way to go!!! I still miss Next, and believe it or not Tescos for everyday tshirts and undies!

River Island will be uber chic!

My advice would be to bring as much as you can. Only leave really heavy winter clothes. If you go out in the city it is quite smart. The clothes shops are rubbish here and I regret chucking out so much when I moved here!

Thanks for the advice also. If anything I need to stock up on more of the summer clothes, t-shirts etc. Can I ask how you find the dress code for the office, is it suits or just smart blouses and skirts?

I think it depends on the office. Generally you will be fine with blouses and skirts but like in the UK I tend to wear a suit to important meetings, job interviews, client meetings, etc. But not all the time. I think I brought too many tbh. A couple of suits will do you fine.
