Guest ravinder21
Hi guys, Now it is almost more than one and half years that I have been granted PR . Though I have already done an initial entry and stayed in Perth for two weeks but , I am confused whether I shift with my family and then search the job etc or go alone and find a job and then relocate my family. I am almost trying daily and sending applications online without any luck. I would like to have an advice from respected migrants who have already shifted to WA Perth to guide me.Presently I have a good job in India and I wiork as Civil engineer for construction company. Guest sabyous
Hi Ravinder Same circumstances I am facing. I got PR for WA exactly 2 years back. I came Perth with my family (wife, 3 children) in Jan 2001 & spent 8 moths. Professionally I am qualified Banker with 12 yrs exp before that I was marine engineer, served merchant navy for a considerable time. Like you I didn't find any decent job offer. presently I am Vice president in the largest commercial bank of Pakistan. i took one year leave to see the job prospects in Perth but may be because of lack of Australian experience I didn't get any offer. Your situation is peculiar. I met an Iraqi civil engineer who I don't know how survived as he spent more than 4 years in Australasia and didn't find any job in his field, doing odd jobs. But on contrary, I saw an Indian civil engineer who was doing quiet good in mines area outside Perth. I think your stay was quiet short, in two weeks what you expect regarding job hunting in Perth. There are quiet a good vacancies in mines area outside Perth for the civil engineers. but i think you must stay here and show you skills. I realized that like me, you are doing good job in India and apprehensive regarding future prospects in Perth. But my friend, to evaluate your chances, you have to search rigorously and if you think that there is some potential regarding your field then avail this opportunity as some Indian engineers are quite settle here in Perth. And now i need your advice, what should i do in my case? i am not finding any prospects in terms of my banking field, although i am doing some high global level finance courses but still I am lacking local exp and as i said I am enjoying VP position here in Karachi Pakistan. But u know the law and order situation in this part of world, I see future of my children in Australia and my growth is in Pakistan. what should I do?
