Guest clareshippen
Hi, myself and a few girls are planning on a road trip up to Exmouth next week. We have 6 days to get up. Were planning on staying overnight in a mix of camping sites and hostels. Hopefully we should fit in Geraldton, Kalbarri, Monkey Mia, Coral Bay before we get to Exmouth. I was hoping if anyone on the site had made the trip and could give us some advice on where to stay? any good campsites? Is there anything we should definitely not miss on the way up? Any advice would be great, Thanks, Clare

ali
We've just come back from Exmouth - beautiful. It took us 6 hours to Kalbarri (7 with a stop for lunch in Geraldton). We stayed overnight in Kalbarri, then headed North to Exmouth which took us 7 hours. We were disappointed to miss the Whale Sharks (there April - July), but saw the turtles coming to shore to lay their eggs. Exmouth is very quiet and relaxing - beautiful place which we fell in love with, but it is a long way. We drove over 3,000km altogether
jackboots
Was it worth the trip Ali ? would you go again ? your pictures are lovely
ali
I would go again .... but we generally don't revisit somewhere for a couple of years. It had a very nice feel to it, very countryfied - the town centre was a handful of shops lol They're building a big marina complex which looks good, we stayed in a house that's been built there, but much of it is still a building site. I would say that you need the stop off each way though (especially if you've got kids). I will have to go again at some point as I really wanted to see the whale sharks ... but the turtles made up for it and we didn't have to pay for that. It was great going out to the coral reef as well.
