Guest newmuminperth
Hi All We are possibly looking at emigrating to Perth in Feb 2012 and will be working in the Shenton park area. We have a 2 and a half year old so we are looking for a good primary school, parks and facilities. Im aware that we will only have 1 car to begin with so we need a property that is close to shops etc but also to transport. Can anyone recommend which suburbs are nice. We are looking at paying around $1600 per month to rent, but will go a bit more for the right property. No doubt I will be using this forum a lot if/when we move! thanks in advance Kerry
ali
Hi Kerry - so difficult so say as so many suburbs are nice and good for familes. Are you looking at near a beach - what sort of commute to work are you looking at etc.
Guest newmuminperth
Hi Ali We are looking for somewhere that is around 20 minutes drive max from Shenton Park, we arent bothered if we live near a beach, although it would be an added bonus! Most important for us is plenty for me and my daughter to do, with shops etc a walk away as we will mostly likely have only 1 car, and good primary schools. Ive looked at Dianella and Mount Hawthorn so far as they were recommended, and it seems that you can get a reasonably sized house for our budget. Do you know how far north we can go in 20 minutes so I know how far up our search would take us? Thanks Kerry
Guest 4YearItch
Hi To be honest any of the suburbs around Shenton Park would be fab for families - unfortunately, that's what most people think and so you wil struggle to get a rental (house) on your budget. The area around Subico/Shenton Park/West Perth is very very busy traffic wise in the morning and although distance wise places may not seem far on a map, if it's time that's important I wouldn' stray to far from those areas. Hope this helps
