Guest BricktopJB
Hi guys, As I've mentiond in a previous post...we are moving to Fremantle, Perth early in the new year. Any help finding reliable bricklaying agencies or construction firms so I can get in touch with them prior to landing in Oz would be greatly appreciated....also any info on good schools/areas to live within a good commute to Fremantle Hostpital would be useful!!! Or just say Hi:wink: and we might see you in a few months!!

Guest Suziepops
Hi I've been in Perth 3 weeks now, jobs are more difficult to obtain outside the country but once you have an address you will find that companies do not turn you away, try looking on seek.com.au, set up your profile and check out the format for your resume, anything else I can help you with just ask. Kind Regards
Guest BricktopJB
Thanks guys. In a whirlwind at the mo. Wife is waiting for her nursing regisration number so that Fremantle Hospital can get the visa sponsorship sorted. We are moving in with my DAD!!!! until our moving date. Am glad to hear that there are jobs available once I get there. I have already registeredd on Seek Susiepops but I think you must be right about being in the country before they acknowledge you as I have yet to have a reply. Keep in touch guys and we'll hopefully be joining you soon Thanks again
Guest mandi1971
My OH is a Plumber and is in a right state trying to find a job before we arrive in January. No one has offered him anything and hes reading all the time about a shortage of jobs for trades at the minute. Its a major worry for us as we are not going over with a load of money so we would need jobs straight away if we are going to afford to stay I have registered him with all the agencies but they all say the same thing, 'contact us when you arrive'. Thats not exactly a job offer though. If anyone has any contacts id be very grateful. Thanks Mandi x

Thanks Mandi x Hi Mandi There are plenty of jobs here, there's a paper called Quokka, Western Australian new plus local free papers, they all have jobs in them, Quokka has 17 pages full of vacancies, like I wrote earlier, employers like you to have an address here in Perth before they hire with phone contact etc & they like you to be keen to work, they do show a little reluctance because there are alot of lazy toads here, usually start as a 3 three month trial but don't worry too much about what you read I've been here for 5 weeks and trust me when I tell you that there is loads of industry, building works everywhere, the CBD is getting a new look, it's similar to how the UK was back in the 70's, if I can help further just ask. Guest Suziepops
We were exactly the same when in Uk, no replies etc but when your here you'll see the huge differences, one thing I will say is you really need to get a car ASAP as the public transport can be frustrating and to get sorted in the beginning you do tend to drive all over the place, roads are long & straight, easy to drive around, we hired for the first week then bought off Ebay but Quokka has everything for sale in it, let me know if I can help you further. Been looking at temperature today and it seems to be hotting up nicely. Personally I cannot wait to get over and start to live my dream. Sharon.
