portlaunay
My wife is here as the primary 457 visa holder and despite being here for just 4 months she's been offered a payrise Her visa states her current salary so if she accepts the payrise does this alter the terms of her visa and if so, what are the implications? She's also been offered a heap of additional minor "benefits" such as; a new laptop, a mobile phone, our broadband at home paid for and support with childcare costs. Will these be subject to FBT and, as before, does this alter the visa terms? Many thanks in advance for any help.
verystormy
Not sure about any tax concequences, but it does not offer the visa. I changed roles entirely within the same company and on different pay scales and made no difference and now have PR
ali
You'd probably have to declare them as benefits when you do your tax return
Druid
My offer letter states I get a pay rise after 6 months, I dont think DIAC needs to know, DIAC are only interested that you are getting paid the minimum wage or higher, thats why you have to state what your salary is to start with
Guest Stu
I got a substantial pay rise about 1 month after I started, and nobody was interested. As long as you get paid above the minimum requirment then it's not an issue.
