Guest Tyles
Any advice to give for flights from Heathrow to Perth? Is it best to set off late evening from the UK? Any preferred airline? Sensible stopover options? Or all in one go? We'll be picked up from Perth Airport so arriving after midnight should not be a problem. Guest wardy
From reading posts on other sites and from my own experience Singapore airlines is the way to go most people say the same. The staff are great with kids and theres plenty of computers/TV/films to keep them amused. Singapore is a great airport aswell. There is a swimming pool on the roof and a transit hotel should you want to get a shower and get some sleep.
Guest welshie4oz
We went three years ago with children aged 5 & 9 and flew with Emirates from Manchester. Great airline and great flights as it's approx 7-8 hours and then 11 hours, so not too long a haul. Our flight from Manchester was about 1pm which got us into Dubai at approx 9pm, we had work from school for them so they worked on that on the way and the tv's in the seats were great as they played games and watched a film. We had a two hour wait in Dubai, the ongoing flight left about midnight UK time, they slept as soon as they got on the plane. Arrived in Perth at 5pm. Will be using them again when we emigrate. ali
I've used Emirates and Singapore (Singapore tops it slightly for us but that's just our opinion). We found an 8pm (ish) flight worked for us landing in Perth 3.30 in the afternoon. Kids got naturally tired just after midnight which wasn't too bad considering the excitment and slept well. Do check though re a stop-over as some airlines don't give extra baggage allowance if you're doing a stop over. (email your chosen airline) We only had a 2 hour wait at Singapore airport and were on our way again, which was great, by the time we'd used the free internet to email people to say we were over half way there, it was time to board the plane again.
