Guest jenperthbound
Hi, we're a couple in our mid-thirties with two young children (5months and 2 years) and have just arrived in Perth. We're sorted with a house (near Fremantle), my Husband has just landed a job so things are looking good but we're missing our social life back home in Bristol. Would love to hear from anyone (particularly people with young families) who would like to meet up for a beer/coffee. Look forward to hearing from you, Jenny

Guest curly1
Yeah I like it we have lived in Perth just over 2 years and have only recently moved from Quinns Rocks to Baldivis. I feel it's more greener down here which reminds me more of home (uk) but where ever you live it's the usual work, eat and sleep ha-ha
Guest t4top
Hi Jenny, I am married with a six year old and live in Beeliar. Do I have to tell you my age??? It's nearer 40 I'm afraid lol..... Hi, Could you please tell us what it is like living in Beeliar. We were considering renting there when we arrive in January as the area look nice on Google and it is also close to my wife work at Fremantle Hospital. However, I have read some negative reviews about the area on realestate.com.au about high crime rate, burglary and the bad smell from the cement factory at the top of the estate. How true are all these and would you recommend moving to the suburb in view of all of these. How have you found the area? I like the look of the new estate there but I don't want to take a risk of living in high crime area. Your opinoin and views would be very well appreciated. t4top
Guest guest5316
All areas have their ups and downs and it depends on how you like to live. For me I like peace and quiet and apart from the odd party the place where we rent (touch wood) is pretty good. I giggled at the bad smell from the cememt factory - utter garbage....these negative reviews must be taken with a pinch of salt. It is a good location to get public transport and for driving it's very central i.e. Freo - Kwinana etc. My husbands friend is in the process of moving out of his newly built house in Beeliar as he has bought another property nearer to his work. If you would be interested in renting his house out you could message me your email address and you can perhaps ask him more about the area as he is Australian and will be able to advise in much finder detail. I don't really want to say if it is a good or bad area as I only arrived in Sept and still finding my feet. With regards to the crime I can not comment but I am pretty sure it can't be as bad as the UK! I used to see people pinching sand from Blackpool beach! Lol. It would be lovely to meet new friends to meet up for a coffee and chat. Im 33 and my husband is 40 and our 2 boys, 6 and 2 years. I moved here 2nd September with my 6 year old daughter and hubby. It would be great to meet you guys as we are similiar ages too. The boys will love it as there loads of beautiful parks and all the kids just mix and play. It is an emotional roller coaster but the way I dealt with it was I didn't think about it until the day because if you have decided to make the big move then that's the decision made. Take one day at a time. The weather is warming up nicely so you will arrive ready to venture to all the wonderful beaches Perth has to offer. I feel very very lucky to be here. Good on for you making the decision to come. You won't look back. Your boys will thrive here.

phil
Seems to have died off in the last few weeks (been cold and rainy) but there often seems to be a few folk up for a Friday evening beer. Everyone's in the same situation and it's nice to hook up with people in a strange city who've got something in common. I tell you one thing - I'll be out this Friday for sure (been one of those weeks!)

dandt99
Hi all, We've been here around 8 weeks now and have finally settled in to our own rental in Hamilton hill, about 4ks south of Freo. So with out this sounding like a dating ad...Non smoker, GSOH etc.......I work in Rail projects and my OH is a nurse, we're mid to late 30's no kids, but no objections to them and are keen to meet up for a few drinks if people are interested. Oh and by the way, we're a couple of them northerners too All the best Darren
