piccolo
Hi, just wondering does anyone know about the general working conditions for Fitters/CNC Machinists? My OH was speaking to a friend who is working in an engineering firm in Perth and he's currently working 60-70 hours a week, 6-7 days a week. If this is the standard, this would really affect our decision to emigrate as currently my husband is working 5 days a week. We would me moving for a better quality of life, but we won't have that if he's working all the time and at weekends too. Would be interested to hear if there are 5 day week jobs available. Thanks

Thanks The Aussies invented the 8-8-8 rule, 8 hours of work, 8 hours of play, 8 hours of sleep, if he's working 60-70 hours a week its completely voluntary, the WA Govt have some of the best working conditions in the world http://wa.gov.au/governmentservices/jobseconomy/conditionsentitlements/
