Hi we have now been living our new life In Australind for 9 weeks having left Essex behind. We are throwing ourselves into it and enjoying the sunshine.

However it seems really hard to meet other mums with littluns this far down South, is there anyone out there in the area that fancies coffee or meet-up?

LOL hmm which one Hillarys Marina with a sunset landscape or Thurrock with xmas traffic haha !! Lucky enough we have got family in Perth, they are meeting us at the airport to take all our luggage then we have a short term rental booked for 5 weeks until we can get something long term sorted out. But I heard everything shuts down at xmas time so hoping we can sort something out in the 5 weeks. Our container & packers comes this thurs/friday and then we will be on our way, its been sad few weeks saying farewell to all our friends and family but looking forward to a new start down under!

Lol only my partner would say lakesides lovely lol we got here and stayed with a friend while we had to find a car and get a job and find a rental which was a nitemare as most viewings are on 15 min slots and when you get there ull have 5or 6 people there too thens the funny bit you have to put down a $500 bond for your application and if your unsuccessful u get it back if you get the rental they take it off ur deposit so it stops you applying for more than 1 at a time as if you applied for 5 propertys and you was successful on 4 of them I've lost $2000 how bazaar aye ?

Hi not been on her since well before Xmas, dont seem to have time to sit on a laptop like in the UK, early up & early to bed while the weather is good. I have three, 8, 6 & 2. We joined Surf Club at beginning of season & have loved it, eldest two tried Brownies which they loved in UK but not very well organised or didnt seem popular, so they gave that up. Then eldest had a go at Scouts but again not keen so now enrolled in Soccer for new season to replace the Surf Club over winter.

Its a very bumpy road with highs and lows and if you asked me I would happily go home now as very homesick but thats 1 out of 5 of us, said we'd give it 2 years so still early days. Hope you are finding your way. Vic

You can't go to wrong in Bunbury if you want to live near the beach. We live in Dalyellup and it's advertised as the forest by the sea. There is loads of parks and walking trails there as well. You can live in most places in Bunbury and be at the beach in pretty quick time. It also has the suburb with the cheapest beachside property in WA which is Withers, but I wouldn't advise anyone to live there. The pace of life down here is slower than Perth, so if that's not your thing then I would give it a miss. I would also do some investigation into what work is available down here depending on what you do for a living as certain sectors have slowed a bit as a direct result of Worsley Alumina ceasing all capital spend. There is still plenty to offer down here and after moving here from Dublin, it's a nice change of pace. The kids all love it although 2 of the 3 were born here. There are great family friendly beaches for the little ones. I think you will just have to drive down some weekend and take a look for yourself.

Hi, I'm from Yorkshire but have been in Australia for 7 years, in Geraldton at the moment but hoping to move to Bunbury very soon, I have 3 kids, 12, 3 and 2, can anyone help with the usual questions like what primary schools there is and is there any areas to avoid? Also what high schools? Thats my main questions really, hope someone can help!

Cheers
