    Recommended Posts

:smile:i think im having abit of a layback and wait moment with contacting shippers( i think its because i have only just moved to a new house :biglaugh:and unpacked again ) , we fly in March :smile:we won't be in a hurry for our stuff downunder due to us in a holiday let for 2 months .

So when did you decide to contact packers to sort the date ?

Also how long did your items take to get to you ?

    Thanks Brides x

Hi Bridey, I contacted 3 different shippers in September with a view to leaving end of November, they all basically said they needed 10-14 days notice, but needed to book the container 10 days before pack up date, so I think you can safely say a month before you plan on packing up, they all estimated 7-10 weeks transit time.

Come to think of it PSS have a special on, xmas is not a good time for them, maybe you can get a good deal, might be worth a phone call

our stuff took about 8 weeks .. we sent it earlier as we went straight into a rental and thought we would rather be without in England than here .. we used John Masons who i can reccomend , no horror stories ... though we did have to pay to get rid of the dogs bed , it was solid plastic ( the kidney shaped ones ) nearly new and had been cleaned with Vircon ... but because it had been used by a pet it had to be sprayed or cleaned or binned , twas cheaper to get binned :skeptical:, yet his toy box got packed no worries .. strange !

We using Crown & we started speaking to them with 6 months to go. The plus to this is you have time to compare rates & in our case go back to them all for discounts etc.

Crown have been brilliant, reduced their costs but have answered all our questions etc. They are coming Dec 21st so at the minute we are lookig at what we have got and if in doubt its on eBay.
