Guest PALMS
We have just sent our visa application to our migration agent. She has said that I now need to undertake an IELTS English exam. She has told me that I only need to take the 'general' test and that I need to score a band 7.0. This will give us an extra 25 points. Having been on the relevant websites we have only been able to send for practise papers through the post. I am finding this a little daunting and was hoping for some advice/encouragement/guidance from anyone who has any experience with this part of the application process. In other words HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!
Guest Andrew & Sharron
Hi, I can't help with the test you have to take, but I have recently just sat the Adult Literacy level 2 test which is equal to GCSE level for work. Like you I was in a total panic as I thought that I wouldn't be able to remember anything that I was supposed to, as it is 20 years since I left school and did all this stuff, but it really is suprising how much you do actually know without realising it. Most of the questions are just common sense, somthing I didn't have much of at 16!!! Guest Dave & Gill
Hi we are also having to take the test and have just paid. Apparently every one now has to sit the test to gain entry into either Oz,Canada and UK. You can buy a book which takes you through the test and also comes with a CD for the listening test. When are you looking to take the test? If it is after me (30th August) i will be happy to send you the book. We have just finished our medicals and the police checks so this is all we have left to do now. Let me now if this is of any assistance and good luck with the test.
