Guest cazmayo
Hi everyone, I have been reading all your informative posts and now have even more questions!! We presently live in Ireland, but have previously lived in Perth some 9 years ago for 3 years but had to move back for visa reasons. Now we are married with 2 young children so we realise if we move back it wont be the mad party lifestyle that we previously had. I cant believe how big Perth is getting. Joondalup was way out with no train connection! My husband is a cabinetmaker (makes kitchens) but will do any kind of carpentry. I have an internet business which is run from home. We are fedup and still dont feel we settled here after 9 years. Previous to PErth we lived in London for 7 years, so we dont mind moving around! We are only at the discussion stage, but I feel Perth is where we should be. The building trade is taking a bashing here at the moment. Visa wise, how long does it take for permanent residencey and what type of visa. Would we be better getting sponsored? Im soo excited as I just loved Perth. Thinking of going out on holiday maybe at Christmas to check it out, and see do we recognise the place. Are we mad with 2 small children?? I dont think so, if so, we are in good company here!! We did travel all over Australia, but Perth is where I left my heart! Look forward to reading more posts. Kind Regards Caroline & Padraig (Melissa aged 4, Jake 10 months)

We hope to at least take a validation trip this summer so we can see Perth for ourselves! All the best with following your dream. Kind regards Karen & Family x
ali
We've only been here 18 months ourselves but Perth has changed in that time too - I'm sure you'll notice the changes Ali

Kind Regards Caroline & Padraig (Melissa aged 4, Jake 10 months) You aren't mad for wanting to escape the rat race over there and having two small children shouldn't be an obstacle. We arrived here with 3 small children aged 1, 3 & 4 respectively. We took the challenge 19 years ago and have no regrets whatsoever. Our 3 small children are now huge in stature now aged 20, 22, and 23. All have had an excellent education and the two eldest have managed to score fantastic jobs.............. the youngest is completing his final year at TAFE. We believe our children have had a far better upbringing down under than what we could have given them back in the north west of Lancashire. Plus, as an added bonus we have been able to achieve much more than what we could have done back in the UK too. Had we stayed over there i doubt very much we would have ever been in the position where we own our own business or owned property the like which we do today. It's not all beer and skittles down under; and it does take a bit of getting used to upon first arrival. But................ dependent upon what the individual puts into it................. believe me; it's not too bad living down under albeit freezin' cold at the mo. BTW Joondalup is still way out in the scrubs according to some people............. but it's nowhere near as isolated as it once was ............ and it now more or less has everything we need so there is hardly any need to venture down into the city anymore. Joondalup and surrounding infrastructure caters for one and all now. it was a long time coming......... but well worth the wait. what was once deemed to be the biggest white elephant of all has finally paid off for all who invested and put their money into Joondalup. it is now officially no longer a part of South Geraldton!!!. Good luck with your move. Johnno
