Guest angel659
Hi I am english but I am still so nervous for this IELTS and I know this will be a problem. I do not like tests anyway and some free material I think is easy, but some are really hard. Any advice?
Dazling Daz
Hi Angel I did my first and hopefully last ielts test on Saturday. I got the 'Official IELTS practice Material 2' from the www.ielts.org. It is wrote by the University of Cambridge who write the ielts tests. The examples in the book are in the dame format as the real thing, so it is as good as it can be. There is no point panicing because you will just make it worse for yourself. If it's meant to be it is meant to be Angel. You can always have another go. My views might change in two weeks when I get my results. Good luck Daz

I managed to pick up a very rare copy from the library the other day! Do you think the test is as hard as the book? I'm working through it well and glad i got hold of it. I imagine the pressure of the day will make it tougher! cheers, Darren

Guest kimi
Thank you, I hope so. I have all the information and so far done quite well. I just hope my fear of exams do not get in the way on the day. Especially the listening one and panicing. lol. Thought Id chime in here with my experience The 'Reading' part of the test and the "Listening' part of the test I found a little challenging. Simply because it felt like I wasnt ready. Be wary, the Listening part of the test (the first section) you only get to hear it once. The Listening test was an australian accent. Try and guess ahead which parts you will need to listen out for to complete your sentence. Read the questions first. You will be allowed to make notes on your question sheet. Some of it is just common sense but the answers that you hear, will not always be the exact answer you have to write down or select; e.g. Question: How much does Person A go to the shops? Answers: A) Not very often, B) Not at all or C) All the time You will probably hear Person A say "Oh, I go shopping every day of the week" so you would go for C) All the time Hope that makes sense. It will probably have been covered in your practice materials. I would say do not worry too much about getting a perfect score - its an academic test so expect difficulties but dont get too stressed out, the IELTS ppl are very nice! Good luck
