Guest emi-great
Hi As far as I am aware boilermaking is a word used to encompass all work related to metal fabrication (someone may know better?) Oftne there are notices on fences at Henderson which is the industrial area around Fremantle for Boilermakers & some of our clients who are welders have found work there as Austal Ships have big workshops in the area. My husband says he believes that 1st class welders usually have experience of Tig welding & aluminium.. but he is not certain of that. There are always ads in the local paper here in Rockingham/Mandurah area for welders/boilermakers so I dont think you would have any problem finding work in the area without travelling to Welshpool Good luck with the move Eve www.emi-great.com
Guest kidds
Hi thanks , I am a qualified welder and fabricator and have worked in the sign industry working from basic drawings . Is a boilermaker something i can pick up in aus , also coded welding i have never had it in the uk can i also gain this . Any ideas of the avarage wages for boilermakers , 1st and 2nd class welders . Its good to know there are plenty of jobs in the Rockingham area as this seems to be a lovely place . House prices are resonable 350,000 seems to get you a 4 bed 2 bath with a pool possible or am i just dreaming ?
Guest emi-great
Hi I honestly dont know how much welders earn here although I did know someone who was a trades assistant to a welder & he was on $20.50 per hour. if you look on the following web sites there may be some help there www.seek.com.au www.alljobs.com.au www.jobs.wa.gov.au www.mycareer.com.au www.careerone.com.au I imagine if you bring your references & any trade certificates you will be able to find work using those & go from there if they need you to upgrade your skills in any way. I think there is a lot of work for the trade you do though. Maybe you could try writing to Austal ships to see if they have anything http://www.austal.com/go/about-austal/production-facilities It is possible to buy a 4x2 in Rockingham for around $350 to $400k depending on area. I should say the average is around $450 www.realestate.com.au www.reiwa.com.au www.domain.com.au Good luck Eve www.emi-great.com

House prices are resonable 350,000 seems to get you a 4 bed 2 bath with a pool possible or am i just dreaming ? HI My husband is a fabricator/ welder, in Aus fabricators are known as boilermakers. They can earn between $30-$35 p/h, and casuals get paid more as they can be laid off with only an hours notice. Aussies don't do more than one trade and my husband would also do pipefitting in the UK, here you're one thing or the other. A 1st class welder can do flux core welding, which is known as something else in the UK, but I can't remember what. You will will get that a lot, same job different name which can be really confusing. If you want any more info or help, feel free to ask.
