s3maxx
Hello All, Has anyone got any experience of having their baggage allowance upgraded to 40 kgs for having an emigrant visa? If so, which airline and would the airline charge extra and do you have to provide the airline a copy of your visa? Thanks
ali
Singapore Airlines offer extra baggage allowance on one way trip, un used PR visas (if you've validated you don't get it). 457 is classed as a temporary visa
portlaunay
We flew Singapore AL and called them a few weeks before our flight to negotiate an additional allowance at a lower rate. Although we were on a 457 we got an extra 15kg free and then a cheap rate for the remainder.
phil
Singapore gave us additional allowance for migration flight. There policy at the time was that the paper stamp had to be in the passport (google "diac visa evidencing unit"), but I don't think the check-in staff were too stringent on that. I'd recommend ringing your chosen airline, confirming their policy, then ringing them back a couple of days later and asking the same question just to be sure you get the same answer. Thanks Hi, we are flying out with Quantas at the end of May- if you phone them and book migration flights you automatically get 40 kgs. We got our flights for £589 each and nobody else came close. Hope it help Jason
phil
They must be getting better - when we rang Qantas they wanted $800 extra per person for the baggage allowance Singapore would give us for free. Goes to show it's worth double-checking with them all!
