linda@no9
Obviously these need to be informed. But, how do you stop mail such as bank cards etc coming to a house you are no longer living in UK side?
elfie
Hi Linda Ive telephoned all and sundry, also informed in writing also. A few Ive informed of a forwarding address. You can also re- route mail via the post office at a cost. My Uk bank are very good will be informing of a change of address as soon as we have a permenant one in Perth. Good luck Mary
phil
We looked into having Royal Mail redirect to Perth. They'll do it, but it's far from cheap. What we've done instead is contact everyone who would send us mail and request all statements etc are online only. Then we set up Royal Mail redirection to a trusted relative in the UK. She helps us out by opening any mail that arrives for us, deciding if it's important or not and then just sends us a jiffy bag with it all in once a month. That way we've been gradually getting hold of the companies we forgot to amend our details with - the jiffy bag gets smaller each month. It was kinda hard, with everything else that was going on, to remember all those pension companies that I only hear from once a year etc, so that approach has worked well for us. Chardy
There are some online providers that will scan post for you and print and forward stuff or securely destroy it for you but of course they charge for the service !
