Wireless Broadband Connectivity

Hi, Have just moved to Butler in furnished rental accommodation that came with a Telstra wireless modem. Unfortunately, we are having real issues connecting to the internet and were wondering whether it is due to the area that we are in or the telephone company that we are with. We are willing to buy another modem from another company if necessary, but obviously don't want to be facing the same problems. Can anyone offer any advice or shed some light on the problem?

Thank you. (PS internet access only seems available from around 1030 p.m.- it's driving my children mad.....!)

We had a holiday let when we first got here and that was in Butler for a couple of weeks, and we had similar issues with internet connecting and staying connected every day we was there, in the end i made a cable connection to the modem binned the WiFi connection and it seemed to hold signal a lot better try it?

Thanks for you replies! Have just been out and bought a Vivid Wireless Home Gateway modem which seems to be working a lot better (although still slow at peak times). Still having a bit of trouble skyping but, all in all, alot better than what we had - which is just as well as the modem cost $249!

Thanks again!
