Guest lambert
Hi I have been offered a job in Subiaco just wondered if anybody could help in schools and childcare. Names, the cost, opening/closing times, when the school holidays are, what they are like? I have a 4 year old and 7 year old. Any information would be great. Thanks, Jenny
Scot01
Two govt schools are Subiaco Primary and Rosalie - both excellent. Subiaco primary is bigger than Rosalie and they hold a farmers market every Saturday which brings in lots of money for the school so it is well resourced. Kids from there go on to Shenton College which is one of the top performing Govt high schools. Depending on your visa, should cost very little to send them there. have a look at their websites and see if they have after school care - sure Subiaco primary does. Have you looked at houses to rent in the area though - you'd be lucky to find a family size house for less than $800 a week. School year runs with four ten week terms - starts about Feb 1st - 10 weeks of school then two week holiday around Easter, another ten weeks and two week hol the beginning of July, ten weeks then two weeks late September, then it might be only 8 weeks and it is the long summer holidays - mid December to end of Jan - about 7 weeks. Guest jojo_muir
I love the farmers market at Subi too. There's another one at Mt Claremont primary school on Saturday mornings which is also fabulous!! But back to schools... Subi is a gorgeous area. Rosalie Primary School would appear to be harder to get into because of the zoning restrictions. But there are lots of fabulous independent schools available in the area. Moerlina and Quintilian are well worth a look (next door to each other in Mt Claremont, 10 mins from Subiaco)... jojo
