Guest cazmayo
Hi, I presently putting together my husbands paperwork for the TRA. I need a reference from all employers, except when we lived in London he worked for a business which seems to have ceased trading!! I read in one post, that you can look up a business on the business registration website, and print off details saying the business has ceased trading??? Anyone know this website for the UK. I only know the Irish one. Jesus, its some work, going back over 15 years!! Fingers crossed. Cheers Caroline
Guest leeob77
for my tra application i did a statutory declaration for the company i served my apprenticeship with. they had closed in 2001. didn't have to look up any details etc. write a declaration, get it sworn at solicitors and that should be fine. passed my tra no problems. Guest cazmayo
Hi Lee, Thanks for that. Thats what I'll do. Can I also ask, what evidence did you provide for your apprenticeship. My husband did an apprenticeship with a company. All he has, is a Fas Cert saying he completed an apprenticeship (government body). He didnt go to college to do it, it was on the job training. I have contacted Fas to ask them if this is sufficient, or if not can they assess him and then give him a cert. He is running his own business for 10 years and has also been sponsored in Australia before, so I hope that will stand to him. Thanks for your help, as I am worrying. My husband is saying stop worrying, Ive been doing the job for 20 years, but everything is black and white with immigration. Kind Regards Caroline
Guest leeob77
i was lucky in that i had kept everything from my apprenticeship. i provided apprenticeship contract, college certificates, nvq certificates for on the job training etc. i would think so long as you can show you did an apprenticeship you should be ok. good luck. if you need any help drawing up the stat dec. send me your email by PM and i will let you have a copy of mine. lee.
