ali
Hello Parry family, Welcome to perth poms - a little quieter than PIO - but I'm sure it will build as more people chose to come to WA
Guest andyparry
thanks for the welcomes! We have not started the visa process yet, we have only just decided on Perth. We are going to go to an expo in Leeds in October with the intention of trying to secure work for one or both of us before we start down that road. Anyone any other ideas/links/info on gaining sponsorship? Cheers.
Guest hodges
Hi what line of work are you both in. I just want to say we went to the expo in April, whilst it was great for getting info packs unless you were in engineering type work they didnt seem to be offering many jobs, not what we expected anyway from the list of recruiters they seemed to be advertising. Still worth a visit if you go not expecting anything, so if you do get iti its a bonus. Try job sites like seek.com etc and applying via the aus yellow pages Hope this helps

My wife is currently just working part time as a Doctors receptionist after resigning from her post as Bank/Estate Agency Manager. She wanted to spend more time at home with our youngest (18 months) before he grows up and starts school. I will be looking for work in a similar line when we arrive in Perth, There seem to be alot of jobs in Engineering in Perth!! Is this true? Regards, Tezzzaaah

Regards, Tezzzaaah Hi Tezzzaaah We are planning to migrate to Perth too - we sent in our TRA 2 weeks ago and are waiting patientley (not) for it to come back. Then will send off the visa application. We are trying to get a sponsor but it seems like most employers are not interested until you have your visa stamped. I have sent off about 20 CV's and some have replied saying they are interested but only when i have the visa - its not putting us off though - we just have to learn to be more patient. We are from Sunderland so its nice to hear from another Northerner. Good luck Sharon
