Corinne14470
Hi all things were looking up..meds booked for next week, case officer assigned...potential start date for hubby if it came through soon of 20 august THEN not only had our house sale feel through (bottom of chain 2 weeks ago after being 7 wks in system), then market is slow, so looking at remortgage (potential buy to let) to clear £15k debt - got rejected for further loan this morning. Got 50-60k equity in our bloody house!! If house doesn't 'sell' this week or we cant get a buy to let we cant go to Oz. I am fairly used to the limbo feeling you have being in the whole visa process but it's wearing very thin now Any suggestions, miracles or house buyers welcome (or rich long lost aunts???) lornarees1
Can u not rent it out without telling mortgage company ?
Guest annie
exactly what i was thinking. We intend to rent and i won't be telling the bank. If your Oh has a job then you should be able to manage setting yourselves up financially once he is earning. It would be a shame to allow the house to stop you from going. lornarees1
We didn't tell bank n we bank with same company ... Less they kno the better n if it's quick like us 15 weeks from job interview to arriving in Perth so didn't have time to save for but to let deposit ! Corinne14470
Ta. We were thinking of that avenue but it's the £15k debt it doesn't solve Hubby only on a $27 ph wage and I will have childcare limiting job if and when I get one. So to pay £120 (which is only 10k loan repayment money) back per month seems impossible due to the reality of living costs in Australia. Sorry, need to think it through thanks

ali
I don't know much about renting etc., but if you do it on the quiet - if anything happened, wouldn't it invalidate your house insurance etc.?
